Original Jenks Navy Carbine dated 1847. Lock/breech marking “REMINGTON’S / HERKIMER/ N.Y.”. Serial # A260 on barrel near the breech. Barrel marking “U.S.N / RP / 1847 / Cast steel. Barrel provenance stamp ‘FOX STUDIO”. Metal has a mellow brown/plum patina throughout. Stock shows scattered dings, handling marks and light surface scratches typical of 175+ years of age. All major brass present and intact w/ natural aged patina. Markings remain clear and legible. Overall 41″.
