Ames US, ADK 1855 Dated Sappers & Miners Bayonet W/S overall 27 1/4″. The bayonet itself remains in excellent condition with a beautiful blade showing most of it original polish. Locking ring functions well. Scabbard is fine condition having a partially open rear seam that can easily be glued if wanted. The very bottom of the drag is missing as with many, blade tip sticks out a little. Bayonets were made is 2 years, 1847 and 1855. A total of 830 guns were manufactured making this a very scarce bayonet.
