Overall bayonet is in fine shape. Blade is marked US SM CO. Bayonet was made by Springfield Manufacturing Company of Ludlow Mass for Springfield Armory between 1818-1830. This is only the second example of this very rare bayonet I have seen for sale. Overall 19″, socket 3″, MRD .82 inches.
