Overall box remains in very fine condition. This is a very early 1st model that was manufactured without the bass reinforcement clips that overlap the top corners. The inside is stamped N.Ogden and a.r.s. inspected. These early boxes have become very scarce. For use with the 45/70 Trapdoor Rifle and other rifles of the period.
