Rifle remains in fine + condition. All markings are present. Bore and actions are excellent. Lock retains around 40-50% case color and is marked E. Whitney over US and N.Haven 1850. Barrel is marked US, SM, VP 1852 and Steel. Front of barrel is numbered 85xx and the original Bayonet ring lug is number 3xx. Stock is very fine with nice edges and 2 clear inspectors cartouches. A very nice example well above average for one of these. Overall 50 1/4″
