British Military Sword bayonet – Enfield, dated 1859. Blade shows an attractive grey/brown patina with light oxidation & light pitting consistent with age.  Blade remains straight, sound and free of cracks or repairs. Ricasso stamped with the crowned “VR” cypher along with “ENFIELD 1859” – a crisp, legible maker/date mark confirming manufacture at the Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield.  Brass pommel/hilt terminal stamped “GRM” over rack number”228″
