Sword remains in fine condition. Founded in 1869 as a small Roman Catholic, fraternal, beneficiary, semi-secret total abstinence society. Blade is etched KNIGHTS OF FATHER MATTHEW on one side and the number 18 on other. The middle scabbard mount is missing and appears to have been for some time. Sword measures 37″ overall. The exact sword can be seen on Page 97 in The American Fraternal Sword book.
