Ames M-1840 Cavalry Officers Sword W/S

Saber remains in very fine condition. Blade is very fine + with excellent etching on both sides. Blade is marked AMES Mfg. Co. Chicopee Mass. and still retains much of its original polish and frosting. The orignal leather washer is present. Leather grip is very fine with slight wear. The beautiful brass hilting retains around 90% gold finish. The correct steel scabbard is very fine and fits blade well. Overall 40 1/4″. A superb Cavalry Officers Saber.
