Ames 1860 Dated Artillery Saber W/S

Saber remains in very good + condition. This very well could be a saber that was shipped to Georgia or Virginia just pre-war. Blade is dated 1860 and never had any other marking. This is now the third one just like this we had had over the years. Pommel top is also unmarked. The quillion and scabbard drag are period stamped 2 on one side and B on other. The original leather grip is very good with area missing about 20-25% leather. Saber is of the early pattern with recessed throat and scabbard with internal spring. The scabbard has an old black paint overall that can be removed is wanted.  Overall length 39 1/4″.
